Dermatoscopy – examination of skin lesions
Dermatoscopy is a method for a more detailed examination of superficial skin lesions. It is performed with a device called a dermatoscope, which allows for the magnification of skin structures and a deeper investigation than is possible with a naked-eye examination. Through it, the following is achieved:
Assessment
Assessment of pigmented lesions—moles and other formations such as seborrheic verrucae, vascular lesions (hemangiomas), and skin carcinomas
Diagnostics
Distinguishing between benign and malignant skin changes and aiding in the timely diagnosis of skin cancer
Consultation
Preventative skin cancer consultation for all ages, as well as for patients with multiple atypical moles or a family history of malignant skin cancer.
