Botulinum Toxin
Botulinum toxin, commonly known as “Botox,” is a neurotoxin that blocks the transmission of nerve impulses from the neurons to the muscles. This allows the muscle responsible for a specific facial expression to remain in a state of deep relaxation; it stops contracting and can no longer wrinkle the skin above it. As a result of the injection, existing lines and wrinkles are smoothed out, and the formation of new ones is prevented.

Botox injections are known as a “lunchtime treatment” due to their speed, relative safety, and quick results.
Effect and Longevity
Initial Effect: 24 to 72 hours.
Full Results: Achieved after 1–2 weeks.
Follow-up/Touch-ups: Any adjustments can be made by the 10th to 14th day at the doctor’s discretion.
Maintenance: Re-application is recommended after the 4th month, during which new treatment areas can also be included.
Frequency: There are no limits on the number of Botox treatments you can receive over time.
After the 4th month, the toxin’s activity gradually fades, and muscle movement returns to a state close to its original level.
Recovery Period
There is virtually no downtime. Immediately after the treatment, there may be slight redness or occasional minor bruising. Headaches, a feeling of tightness, or mild, temporary swelling occur rarely.
Post-Treatment Instructions
First 3–4 hours: Do not touch the injected area and avoid applying makeup. After this period, you may return to your usual skincare and makeup routine.
For the first 4 hours: Remain upright and do not lie down.
For the first 72 hours (3 days): It is recommended to avoid:
- Intense sunlight (sunbathing, solariums).
- Heat treatments (saunas, steam baths, steam).
- Intense workouts.
- Alcohol consumption (especially if redness is present).
Contraindications
- Hypersensitivity (to any of the ingredients)
- Infection at the injection site
- Neuromuscular disorders (e.g., Myasthenia Gravis, Eaton-Lambert syndrome)
- Neurological diseases
- Recent use of specific medications: Anticoagulants, aminoglycosides, cholinesterase inhibitors, succinylcholine, calcium channel blockers, lincosamides, polymyxins.
- Pregnancy and breastfeeding
- Inflammatory or autoimmune diseases
- Age over 65
- Allergies to medications or food (specifically eggs)
- Diagnosed psychiatric conditions
- History of easy bruising, bleeding, or delayed wound healing
