Laser Hair Removal
The laser emits light pulses that are selectively absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicles. The light energy is transformed into heat destroying the hair follicle while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. All body parts can be treated by changing the laser parameters depending on the treated zone and skin colour.
Advantages of Laser Hair Removal Treatment:
– It can be carried out on both tanned and untanned body areas all year round
– It will not cause any irritation, allergic reactions or inflammation afterwards
– It can be carried out on large body areas for a short period of time
How many procedures do I need?
The number of procedures is individually determined and depends on the colour and structure of the hairs, the treated area, hormonal deviations, medication intake, etc.
The number of procedures for different body parts varies from 6 to 8 and for face – from 6 to 10.
What is the interval between treatments?
The interval between treatments varies from 4 to 5 weeks for the facial area, and 6 to 10 weeks for other body areas. Increasing the number of treatments leads to a longer interval in between treatments. The laser beam destroys permanently the hairs which are currently in their active growth phase (above the skin) and up to 20% of all hairs in the treated area are in this phase. Therefore the treatment of 100% of the hairs requires a course of several laser treatments.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Some treated areas boast 90% hair reduction and the result is long-lasting. Others need 1-2 treatments annually to maintain the result.
How long does each session take?
It depends on the size of the area being treated. Laser treatments can take from 5 minutes for the upper lip to 60 minutes for lower legs.
How should I prepare for laser hair removal treatment?
The hairs to be treated should not be waxed or plucked with epilator for three to four weeks before treatment. The area to be treated should be freshly shaven or the hairs need to be removed with a depilatory hair removal cream at least one day prior to the treatment.
What should I do after the laser treatment?
The hairs will shed after 10 to 14 days following the treatment. Up to the 10th day the hairs can be removed by waxing or epilator. The use of sunscreen cream is recommended during that period. You should also avoid sun and solarium exposure. The next session is carried out when the hairs grow back (within 1 to 3 months). Meanwhile the hairs can be removed by shaving or by using hair removal creams.
Is laser hair removal painful?
How much pain you feel during the session is highly individual and depends on the sensitivity of the treated area. Special cooling system helps to reduce the discomfort and protect the skin. A certain degree of skin redness can be seen after the treatment session but it disappears within 5 to 10 minutes.
